Titanium scrap and turnings

Titanium alloys are mainly used in the aircraft, aerospace and maritime industry thanks to their resistance to corrosion, light weight and capacity to withstand extreme temperatures.

Titanium is characterised by low density, high resistance (as a matter of fact, it is as resistant as steel and twice as resistant as aluminium), low elasticity and low thermal expansion, excellent resistance to corrosion, an extremely short radioactive half-life (which means that it is a material of primary importance for use in nuclear systems). Moreover, titanium is immune to the corrosive attack of salt water or marine environments and it is therefore differently used in the maritime industry; it also exhibits high resistance to a wide range of alkali acids, natural waters and industrial chemical products; in the end, it provides has high resistance to erosive attacks.

All these features shall ensure that titanium scrap and turnings are also much sought after materials on the market of secondary raw materials.

Titanium Grade 2

Titanium grade 2 is the commercially pure titanium most used thanks to its wide range of applications and large availability on the market. Mipra Services is regularly purchasing and selling CP (commercially pure) titanium scrap and turnings grade 2 as well as other types of titanium and we have also great interest in second-choice tubes and bars or overstocks made of any titanium alloy.

Titanium grade 2 has features, such as good weldability, high resistance, ductility and formability, that make it a first choice in many fields, ranging from architecture to medical industry, from marine industry and desalting to the processing of hydrocarbons.

Titanium Grade 5

Titanium grade 5, also known as Ti 6Al-4V, is the titanium alloy most used by the industry thanks to its peculiarities. Giuliani Metalli is regularly purchasing and selling titanium scrap and turnings grade 5 as well as other titanium alloys and we have also great interest in second-choice tubes and bars or overstocks made of any titanium alloy.

Ti 6Al-4V or titanium grade 5 represents half the total worldwide titanium consumption thanks to its usability, high strength, particularly light weight and high resistance to corrosion.

Titanium grade 5 is used in the aerospace, chemical, medical and marine industry.
